Alice and her sister sit in the darkness singing about the night; a Beautiful Night, a Night of Love. But, when Alice loses her sister and is tricked into Wonderland, things take a turn for the worse…
Can she survive the advances of the Caterpillar man, who wishes to add her to his pressed butterfly collection? Or the Siamese twins TweedleDee and TweedleDum, who adore her so much they decide to eat her? Will the crazed drunkards at The Mad Hatter’s tea party listen to her? And can she escape the guillotine when she is accused of stealing the Queen of Hearts’ Jam Tarts…?
Opera Warwick journey into a Wonderland with their first devised opera pastiche, based on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and including everyone’s favourite operatic arias, duets and choruses in English translation – including the Toreador Song, the Flower Duet, If Ever I Would Leave You, and The Duet For Two Cats. We are giving you the opportunity to sing along with the hugely popular and the utterly obscure, from Handel to Walton, Mozart to Sondheim, and from the most delicate aria to the biggest, juiciest chorus.
